SL Benfica striker Óscar Cardozo is a doubt for the UEFA Champions League match away to Olympique Lyonnais on 20 October after damaging ligaments in his left knee.
The Paraguayan international had to be replaced during the second half of Wednesday's 2-0 Group B defeat at FC Schalke 04, with the Lisbon club now confirming the extent of the 27-year-old's injury.
Cardozo is expected to be sidelined for at least three weeks, immediately ruling him out of Sunday's home Portuguese Liga match against SC Braga. Benfica are third in UEFA Champions League Group B with three points from two games.
